yesterday, we decided to try driving out to mems and teed's house when josh was done with work. we've previously timed our long drives to coincide with bebe's nap schedule, but we needed to get here by last night. nervous about how bebe would handle two and a half wide awake hours in the car, i decided to pack a bag full of toys and food for her, and josh planned to sit in the back to entertain her. we had to stop at our favorite local organic baby store for some diaper liners, and while we were there i decided to pick up a few new toys for her to have during the trip. i was holding her, looking through all the cool stuff on the shelves, when bebe spotted something. "that," she said, pointing. "that." she was pointing at a cloth doll, a cute little girl named tina, so of course i had to get it for her.
this morning, before anyone else was up, bebe and i hung out in the kitchen and she gave ricki and tina a ride in my old chair.

{edit: in discussing bebe's new doll, josh and i discovered that we both hate the name tina (no offense to any tinas out there). so we've renamed ricki's new friend: michelle, after our amazing first lady.}
