another catch-up post

busy, busy, excuses, blah blah blah.

now let me distract you from my lack of posting with many entertaining pictures of my adorable child!

trying to fill mommy's shoes and doing a pretty cute job of it.

getting cozy with daddy.

bebe has recently been in a particularly snuggly phase so i've been wearing her on my back a lot while cooking dinner. compare the photo above to the one below, from last winter, to see how much she's grown!

awesome shirt sent to beebs by josh's friend sheila, who we hope will make it down here sometime soon to meet her in person!

last weekend, we visited with some friends and daddy got to try on a (soft, kid-sized) space helmet! here's what he would look like in zero gravity:

and here's what bebe would look like, except we can't send her into space because her cuteness would create an enormous black hole that would swallow the world. too bad, beebs.

she sat with the adults while we ate dinner. the big boys (ages 8 and 4) were in the living room watching a movie. every so often bebe would get down from the chair to go get a toy to play with. at one point i realized she'd been gone for several minutes so i walked into the dark living room to look for her. i scanned the room repeatedly before realizing that there were three small heads, not two, on the couch watching "Antz." she had crawled up and seated herself right next to her buddy Gray to watch some of the movie!

one of the best parts of our visit, besides getting to reconnect with some good friends, was that they passed down to us a play kitchen that their boys have outgrown. we brought it home and wasted no time setting it up in bebe's room.

she invited euan up to check out her sweet score. they had tons of fun cooking together.

speaking of scores, we found an adorable outfit for bebe's baby emma, who was purchased for $1 at a tag sale and didn't come with any clothes. this has been a source of some concern for bebe, who frequently asks, "emma clothes?" when i tell her emma doesn't have any she always thinks for a minute and then suggests, "market!" so, the other day i took her to the market (aka the toy store) to find something suitable for emma. it wasn't until we got home that i realized the outfit we chose matched the outfit bebe was wearing almost exactly.

she wasn't too into the idea of me taking a photo of the two of them together, though. this was unfortunately the best i could do. can't you just hear her saying "mo-om!"???

and speaking of her babies, sometimes i leave the room for a minute and come back to discover she's done something weird with them. like this.

here are some "M"s that bebe drew. she loves the letter M because it is the first letter in morrie's name.

morrie and bebe have recently gotten old enough that jessie and i decided they're ready to be responsible for some chores.

nothing major. just some light housekeeping: sweeping,

scrubbing the floors,

and vacuuming.

bebe, having entirely too much fun sweeping. chores aren't supposed to be fun!

first time playing with play-doh.

it's been awful rainy around here recently. luckily my life comes with a built-in ray of sunshine.

bebe eating a pickle. video to follow as soon as i have time to upload it. promise!
