bebe has begun to develop a rudimentary conception of the future. she has two categories into which all future events are placed: something is either going to happen "after nap" or when she's "older, older."

me, as we watched for trains on our way home from the playground: "who rides the orange train?"
bebe and morrie: "daddy!" / "aba!"
me: "and what color train does auntie ride?"
bebe: "purple!"
me: "beebs, guess what -- auntie is going to come visit us sometime soon."
bebe, nodding: "after nap."
morrie: "liza coffee!"
me: "yeah, liza is drinking coffee. mmmmmm."
bebe: "bebe coffee?"
me: "no, when is bebe going to drink coffee?"
bebe: "older, older."
these photos are unrelated, except that they are also cute. the other day we had a lady gaga dance party. i'll post some video soon but in the meantime, check out bebe's outfit. i think lady gaga would approve.
