16 months!

today, beatrix marie is 16 months old!

at 16 months, bebe is a very happy girl who is fully engaged in the world around her. every day she learns a new word and two days ago she began putting two words together for the first time: "bye bye daddy," "bye bye juice," "euan baby" and "daddy train" are all thoughts she's been able to express.

she is very determined and very willful, and temper tantrums are becoming a more frequent occurrence, but she is still more often than not distracted by the offer of reading a book or playing with her babies.

vehicles are her current favorite thing -- school buses, city buses, fire trucks, ambulances, motorcycles, pickup trucks, tractors, excavators, delivery trucks, she loves them all. she hugs and kisses everything she loves, and i mean everything. mommy and daddy and euan and morrie, her baby dolls, her lunch, the trains going by. if it's something she can't actually reach (like the trains), she squeezes her arms around her belly and sways back and forth, saying "huuuuuuss" (a lot of her words end in the "s" sound these days), and then presses the back of her hand to her mouth, saying "mwah."

she makes me laugh many, many times a day. i am so thankful for my girl.
