boy, was it hot today! it was predicted to reach a high of 93 and it definitely got there. bebe and i started out our morning on the front porch. we watched for dogs, listened to the birds, and talked about all the cars we saw driving past down on the street.
mama had a cup of coffee, and bebe enjoyed her favorite beverage too.

then, after a morning nap, we drove to the next town for a playdate with our friends missy and maren. missy was a high school friend of mine who i'm back in touch with thanks to facebook, and maren is her 16-month-old daughter. missy filled up her kiddie pool and we hung out in the backyard. bebe wore a bathing suit for the very first time! (watch this space -- she has five, so the cuteness will just keep coming, all summer long.)
she also tried watermelon for the first time, and i was not surprised that she loved it. in the last hot months of my pregnancy, i was eating about a half a watermelon a day.
she had a lot of fun pushing maren's car around, practicing walking.
and after we left, we went to the mall in search of a sun hat that bebe can't take off.
mission accomplished. what a fun day!
