old toy, new hat

when my mom came to the hospital to meet bebe for the first time, she brought a bag of items from my babyhood, including my elizabeth tshirt, the outfit i wore home from the hospital when i was born (which is now hanging up in bebe's room), and a couple of my toys. now that bebe is a *total pro* at putting toys in her mouth, i gave her this red duck rattle to see what she'd make of it.

notice the look of intense concentration. she will get that duck in there if it's the last thing she does!

and, all i can say about her new winter hat is that pictures do not even begin to capture the cuteness. you all might want to come for a visit on a cold day...
