today, beatrix and i drove down to providence to meet a very special little lady, ocean rae. ocean's mom is a good friend and fellow grad student, and when we both got pregnant within a month of each other we were thrilled to be expecting BBFs. once the girls are old enough, we are planning some child care swap so we can find time to work on our dissertations without having to shell out lots of money for babysitting. so, bebe and ocean will be spending lots of time together.
ocean is only ten days old and is a sweet little peanut. she was 7 pounds 7 ounces when she was born and after losing some weight is starting to gain it back, thanks to the hard work of her breastfeeding mama. right now, there's about 4 1/2 pounds difference between these two. we marveled at the fact that soon, they will be relatively close in size and will be almost the same age. right now, 4 weeks makes a big difference!
