the best

today is the birthday of the best husband and father in the whole world!

this guy, right here:

the one who brought me her:

see any resemblance?

this blog is supposed to be all about beebs, but today it's all about the man without whom she wouldn't be here.

hunney, i'm so glad you were born!

you have been my partner on this journey for almost eleven years.

you are my favorite traveling companion,

{on the road somewhere}

{the badlands}

{sandpoint, ID}

{the grand canyon}

{jamaica}

{phoenix}

{kauai, HI}

you make me laugh,

you grow a mustache for me even though you hate it,

and you always, always support me.

bebe is so lucky to have you for a daddy,

and you're teaching her about so many things:

video games,

the internet,

literature,

the (defending world champions) celtics,

the force,

how to rock,

the joy of hoodies,

how to enjoy a lazy morning in bed,

and most importantly, how to snuggle:

happy birthday, we love you so much!!!

loving the walker

bebe loves tooling around the kitchen in her walker. the only problem is, it's really hard to get a good picture of her while she's in it. she moves so darn fast!

i finally stopped her with my feet, and she just looked at me like, "mommy, you are totally cramping my style."

fun with mommy

using her voice

this is a long video, but it takes the full 3 minutes to showcase her entire range.

the best toys...

despite the many toys around our house -- toys designed specifically for babies, toys that are brightly colored, that crinkle, that rattle, that are made by the finest handcrafted-non-toxic companies on the planet -- the very best toys, if you ask bebe, are not toys at all.

anything that is clearly designed for use by grownups is, apparently by definition, more interesting than any of her toys. so far, items that she has especially enjoyed playing with include a measuring cup, a potato brush, a plastic celtics souvenir cup, a box of coffee filters, and a mixing spoon.

here she is just moments ago, playing with the case for my camera.

now, if only her mean mommy would give her the corner of the laptop (which she is reaching desperately for) to chew on, she'd be in heaven.
