we have this book called "baby 1 2 3". it has photographs of babies doing simple activities on each page. one baby clapping, two babies reading, three babies wearing hats, all the way to ten babies playing with toys. (as my friend jessie -- morrie's mom -- said the other day, "where's the plot???") it's bebe's current favorite book and she requests that i read it to her many times a day. sometimes she'll pick it up and read it to herself -- she points at the page over and over, going "hm, hm, hm, hm, hm." she hasn't quite figured out the numbers part yet.
